Andhra Pradesh United Nations Association is a voluntary, non-profit
making social organization, established in 1999, in accordance
with the Constitution
of
Indian Federation of United Nations Association (I.F.U.N.A.) affiliated
to the World Federation of United Nations Association WFUNA (Geneva).
The head office, of the Association is located at Hyderabad, the
capital of the State of Andhra Pradesh.
WHY JOIN A UNITED NATIONS ASSOCIATION?
The principal purpose of United Nations Association (UNA) is to
enhance the relationship between the people of a member state and
the United Nations. To achieve this objective, a United Nations
Association has the following aims:

To disseminate information, in cooperation with the UN Information
Centers whenever possible, about the programmes and activities
of the UN;

To mobilize public support for and stimulate popular participation
in those UN programmes in which citizens are expected to
play
a role;

To publicize the numerous UN success stories-giving evidence that
we all ultimately benefit from such UN programmes;

To lobby its government, political parties and interest groups
in support of the UN;

To establish relationship with members of the media and act as
a catalyst to stimulate frequent and accurate coverage of the
UN and its programmes;

To collaborate with other national voluntary organizations on
projects related to the work of the UNA;

To join with other UNA's in the framework of the world Federation
of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) to extend the impact
of
their programmes to the regional and global levels;

To promote international understanding and friendship between
members of UNAs.
